it is what's certain

when death comes I am ready

-I yearn for that day
when she arrives I am welcomed with a warm embrace from an old friend
she asks me how I am
how are the kids
in this pool I drown again
dead to the world
I let go
free
yet again
to live my life my way
I wait
-she comes
I wait
she waits
we stay
life is born everlasting
with nothing in it
no way to say hello
no way to say goodbye
and empty handed I pray
-to the gods I pray for that day that never comes
